THE ROMAN AND MEDIEVAL FLORENCE

With this private walking tour in the centre of Florence you will discover the evolution of Florence from the Roman origins through Middle-Age and Renaissance period.

During this walk you will see Piazza della Repubblica, the centre of the Roman Florentia, here there was the Roman Forum.

Then You will visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery with the wonderful “Gate of Paradise”, the Giotto’s Bell Tower, The Dante’s quartier with the medieval tower-houses. Finally we will visit the Davanzati Palace, a typical example of medieval house and Piazza Signoria with the Palazzo Vecchio (the town hall). In this area there was the ancient Roman theatre.
